Foreword

To research is to gaze upon the unknown and return a changed man. As Bedans, we are in pursuit of this knowledge, hone our talents that we may provide undeniable proofs of competence and astuteness that are fostered within the walls of our beloved university, and use this knowledge to serve something greater than us.

Before the launch of Res Pvblika, the typical fate for a product of their labor, one sowed in blood and sweat, is merely to be left in some dusty drawer or electronic document that will most likely never be opened after initial passage. Under such circumstances, it is important to realize just how imperative it is to provide our youth with a platform to show their findings to the world, to immortalize them per se. This is exactly what Res Pvblika aims to provide, a platform for the brightest students of the Department of Political Science to showcase their research.

The first student-led academic journal of San Beda University (SBU), RES PVBLIKA is a platform for undergraduate students to engage in political study, share their research, and contribute to the academe.

The articles to be published therein will be subject to review by both the Department of Political Science faculty and the Res Pvblika Editorial Board in order to ensure that integrity and academic excellence is upheld in every article.

Res Pvblika is an open-access journal, free of charge to all of its viewers. Neither shall there be any submission fee nor processing fee for any aspiring authors.

Issues are published once a year, with the journal accepting submissions year-round. Interested alumni and faculty of SBU’s Political Science Department may peruse the ‘Submissions’ page providing for a submission guide and guarantee of research ethics. As such, he is also expected to adhere to all ethical standards. Any breach of ethics will render the invitation void or omission of his/her work if it has already been published.
